Year 4 have been exploring what makes a good podcast. They have listened to several podcasts on various themes. They recognise a podcast includes a variety of features like an introduction to who they are and what the podcast is all about. It has jingles, music and sometimes sound effects. This half term, children will be planning and creating their own podcasts using Audacity.
Year 3 have been looking at what makes a good animation. They have used ipads and stop imotion app to animate a stick person to complete different actions. They have been learning about onion skinning and slow movements make a smooth animation. Its important to work collaboratively when taking the images to ensure they get a good quality end product. They are in the process of planning their own animations based on a Roman theme.
Year 1 have been focussing on exploring computer art programs and various tools they can use to get different effects. Firstly, they studied Mondrian and the use of line and fill tools to recreate one his pieces.
The children explored the paint brush tool and the colour palettes to draw a portrait of themselves. We discussed the differences between using a computer based art program compared to real life painting.
